Filter Shield
Not all drain blockages are caused by FOG (fats, oils and grease).
A Filter Shield is an effective tool to separate and remove solids whilst enabling water to drain away. Filter Shields use a pressure drop, similar to that of a fountain in order to effectively separate and retain solids. This allows the water to drain away free of solids.
Sewage that enters the Filter Shield as well as any solids present, are captured in the filter basket. The filter basket has 4mm holes to allow water to pass through and solids to be retained. There is also an additional option of a 2mm filter that will trap even smaller particles.
A Filter Shield has a lid that’s easy to remove, complete with a silicone rubber seal to prevent any odours from escaping. The filter basket is also easy to remove and empty, which makes it far more amenable for staff to maintain. They can be supplied with adjustable feet (as standard) or with a stainless-steel stand. Each Filter Shield is also supplied with flexiplumb fittings and can be installed left or right-handed.
Filter Shields can effectively extract all sorts of waste and solids, including coffee grinds, potato peelings, aerated starch, rice, cleaning cloths, scouring pads, chicken bones, fish and meat trimmings, vegetable peelings, string and other similar types of substances.
Keep your environment safe and clean with our quality Filter Shield. They can be installed inside or outside your facility. They are made from corrosion-resistant and durable polypropylene, with each Filter Shields able to connect to the outlet drainage of the contaminating sink or equipment.
An advantage of the Filter Shield is its patented dry waste filtration that helps to prevent a build-up of sludge. It is a sealed unit that helps to eliminate odours and does not have any perishable filter bags. To reduce the frequency that the Filter Shield needs to be emptied, it has a high capacity 15kg waste filter basket. Additionally, by using a Filter Shield you will reduce your hygiene issues (such as rodents feeding on food waste), prevent drain blockages and not suffer continuous maintenance costs.
